Investors' Club
Investing abroad
Investing abroad is more concerning than investing in the
UK, even in the current uncertain economic environment in Britain. This is for a collection of reasons:
information about foreign economies is delayed; understanding and interpreting
the information is more difficult; and finding the opportunities for investing
needs more effort. All of these are
helped through the Investors' Club.
Information
The SBBC collects information from a wide range of sources to support its activities promoting business and commerce between Britain and Slovakia. This information is made available to Investors' Club members to put them ahead.
Understanding
Understanding the context of a foreign investment can be difficult. The recent difficulties with local officials in Spain is a case in point. This understanding is necessary both to interpret the implications of information and to interpret the actions of the other parties.
Access to opportunities
Timely access to the best investment opportunities is
difficult from a distance. This is not
just because language differences cause delay but also because proximity gives
belief. Frequently it is only the
expectation of a higher price from foreign investors which gives them access.
Investors' Club
The SBBC Investors' Club is the SBBC's answer to the
problems we have identified. Our
connections and reputation in Slovakia help to source high quality investments,
and because our investors are valued this is often in advance of open
marketing. Our contacts not only alert
us to coming changes but also give an inside perspective on information and
actions.

A typical speculative investment is investing into a business start-up or new product development.
