Global Entrepreneurship Week Slovensko
Global Entrepreneurship Week Slovensko is a celebration of Slovak entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial spirit in Slovak students and young people. The Week is opened on 18th November 2008 by Mr Dusan Caplovic, Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic at a conference in the University of Economics in Bratislava.
Entrepreneurship is the driving force of a strong and healthy economy. For one week, millions of young people through thousands of activities in 75 countries around the world will join a growing movement of young entrepreneurs and innovators. Dozens of countries are coming together for the first time to host Global Entrepreneurship Week, which will inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity. To think big. To turn their ideas into reality. To make their mark... and help to overcome the global economic recession.
Through this initiative, the next generation of entrepreneurs will be inspired and emerge. In doing so, they will begin to acquire the knowledge, skills, networks and values needed to grow innovative, sustainable enterprises that have a positive impact on their lives and the lives of those around them.
Speakers at the launch of the event will include: Mr. Dusan Caplovic, deputy prime minster of the government of the Slovak Republic; Mr. Vojtech Ferencz, director of the strategy section of the Ministry of Economy; Prof. Rudolf Sivák,. PhD., Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava; Dr. Robert Redhammer, vice-dean of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava; Mr. Jan Telensky, world renowned entrepreneur and founder of Aquacity Poprad; and many other personalities.

We all have a role to play:
- Join a growing movement of entrepreneurial young people. Transform your passions into reality and make the world notice.
- Experienced entrepreneurs can shape the next generation of business leaders by sharing their stories, serving as role models and mentoring new entrepreneurs.
- Powerful ideas frequently arise at the intersection of cultures and academic disciplines. Educators and academics can help their students see and realise these opportunities.
- By supporting entrepreneurs, the government supports economic growth and social progress simultaneously.
