"Human Rites and City Lights": Joint conference on tourism and festivals

Centre for Tourism & Cultural Change (CTCC) at Leeds Metropolitan University and International Festivals and Events Association Europe (IFEA) in cooperation with the Bratislava Culture and Information Centre invite you to the conference which will bring together international researchers with policy makers and practitioners in the festivals and cultural events sector.

The conference will discuss the complex relationships between tourism and festivals, focusing in particular on achieving balance between social, artistic and commercial aspects of festivals. Presented by leading industry experts and practitioners, the IFEA Europe conference programme seeks to nurture cooperation, professionalism, provide factual knowledge, and generate awareness of "best practice" in the industry through an exclusive series of keynote presentations, educational workshop sessions, and round-table discussions. 

The program will focus in particular on financial challenges and need for engaging, spectacular, or intimate programming to meet the expectations and needs of modern day audiences. Fun and social activities included in the conference programme will be followed by an optional  sightseeing tour to the Small Carpathian wine region on March 21st. More >>
