Slovakia to welcome Hungarian foreign minister

Peter Balazs, the Hungarian foreign minister, is to make an official visit to Slovakia.
Slovakian prime minister Robert Fico is to meet with the Hungarian official tomorrow (May 13th) to discuss the current state and future of Slovak-Hungarian bilateral relations.
Miroslav Lajcak, Slovakia''s foreign minister, will attend the meeting to discuss other areas where the two states could work together as well as current issues related to the global financial and economic crisis.
President Ivan Gasparovic will also meet with the minister during his visit.
It will be Mr Balazs'' first official overseas trip since his appointment as Hungarian foreign minister in April this year.
Hungary and Slovakia recently collaborated on a joint appeal to the European Union to apply for more funds to preserve the ecology of the Ipel river.
The Ipel River is 232km long, starts in the centre of Slovakia and runs along the borders between the two countries before meeting the Danube in Hungary.
