EMED is making encouraging progress on its Biely Vrch project in Slovakia.

The company made the comment during the release of its final audited results for 2008.

Work at the site has progressed as planned and the firm estimates that the Biely Vrch deposit contains 1.1 million ounces of gold.

The company''s other large project is the Rio Tinto mine in Spain.

Ronnie Beevor, EMED chairman, said: "EMED Mining will continue to progress its two core projects in 2009. We are well placed in our two key commodities, gold and copper. The gold price has recently hit record highs largely as a result of the economic crisis and the expectation of renewed inflation."

The initial JORC Code-compliant Mineral Resource for the Biely Vrch porphyry gold deposit in Slovakia is estimated to total 41.7 million tonnes at 0.79g/t gold.

EMED stated that exploration continues to provide encouragement that further large porphyry gold deposits will be discovered within the land it owns in central Slovakia.
