Skylink expands through Slovakia

Skylink, online television provider, is the fastest growing direct-to-home platform in Slovakia, one industry expert has claimed.
Jaromir Glisnik, managing director at TradeTec, told Broadband TV News that the firm has added an average of 25,000 new subscribers every month during the past year from Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Skylink is also the only provider of high definition services to the entirety of Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
The comments were made during a Broadband TV News/Telenor Satellite Broadcasting Business Breakfast held in Prague.
Skylink is also partly responsible for speeding up the development of the Czech Republic''s television industry which is "in much better shape" than it was 18 months ago, the news provider stated.
Meanwhile, the History Channel recently announced its expansion into Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Tom Davidson, managing director at the History Channel, said: "Demand for quality factual programming is particularly strong in central Europe, and we are very pleased to extend our presence in the Czech Republic and Slovakia."
