SPP offers boiler scrappage scheme

SPP and its non-investments fund EkoFond have introduced a new scheme where Slovakians can receive a discount on a new boiler after scrapping their old one.
In a similar fashion to the Slovakian government''s recent car scrapping scheme, consumers will be able to save up to 25 per cent on a new condensation boiler if they dispose of their old boiler in an environmentally-friendly way.
EkoFond has invested 222,500 (£195,000) into the initiative, with consumers able to receive the discounts until this money has been spent.
"By replacing their old boiler with a new gas boiler, customers will enjoy a double benefit," said SPP market partners relations manager Tibor Jedlicka.
"Lower gas consumption will get immediately reflected in saved cash... while the operating safety of the appliance will be improved in a major way as well."
Consumers will be able to scrap both atmospheric gas and electric boilers to receive the discount, and will also be able to receive the grant when they dispose of gas stoves, solid fuel stoves and gas heaters.
