Robert Fico to attend V4 meeting

Slovakian prime minister Robert Fico is to attend a meeting of the leaders of the Visegrad Four (V4) in Krakow and Wieliczka in Poland.
The leaders will meet for a working dinner at the historic salt mine in Wieliczka.
Topics for discussion include issues surrounding climate change, energy security, how to increase the budget of the International Visegrad Fund and increasing cooperation levels within the group.
The leaders will also evaluate the year-long programme for the V4 during the Polish presidency of the group, which is due to finish at the end of June.
Hungary will be the next state to hold the presidency and will be formally introduced to Donald Tusk, prime minister of Poland.
The group was originally called Visegrad Three, but the name was changed to the V4 following the split of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic in 1993.
Figures from the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies show that Slovakia had the smallest public deficit in the group during 2008.
