Euro-train to encourage voters in Slovakia

A Euro-train is to travel around Slovakia as part of an initiative to encourage people to vote in the forthcoming European election.

The train will run from today (June 1st) until June 5th before the voting in Slovakia takes place on June 6th.

It will set off from Trnava before calling at Zilina, Poprad, Kosice and Banska Bystrica.

IUVENTA, the Slovakian youth institute, has organised the train in collaboration with the European Parliament Information Office in Slovakia, representatives from the European Commission in Slovakia and the Slovak Cabinet Office.

A number of people from political institutions within the European Union and project implementers from IUVENTA will be travelling with the train to provide the public with information about the union, the parliament and what the results of the vote will mean for the eurozone and Slovakia.

IUVENTA stated that the aim of the initiative is to encourage people to use their opportunity to vote without influencing their decision on who to support.
