Special Court poll results 'do not express public's view'

The results of an opinion poll on the future of the Special Court in Slovakia do not provide an accurate depiction of what the public think, one minister has claimed.
Justice minister Stefan Harabin stated that the lack of interest in preserving the court was illustrated by the poor attendance at two protests organised by the Slovakian opposition parties, TASR reports.
Research by the Polis Slovakia agency showed that the majority of respondents are concerned by the ruling that the court does not adhere to the state''s constitution.
Many of those people questioned said they were worried that the removal of the judicial institution would result in the rise of corruption and bribery within Slovakia.
Slovakia''s Constitutional Court ruled that the Special Court is unconstitutional, although six of the 13 judges voted against the decision
Meanwhile, Mr Harabin is standing for the post of Supreme Court chairman in the June elections.
Eva Babiakova is the only candidate standing against him.
