Queen's visit commemorated in plaque

A plaque to commemorate the visit of Queen Elizabeth II to Slovakia has been unveiled.
HMA Michael Roberts, British ambassador to the Slovak Republic, unveiled a permanent plaque to mark the Queen''s visit during October 2008.
Her visit with Prince Philip and foreign secretary David Miliband was the first time a reigning British monarch had visited Slovakia.
Speaking at a state banquet to mark the visit, Queen Elizabeth said: "Companies from the UK, building on a decade of engagement by the British Chamber of Commerce, have established themselves successfully in your growing economy.
"Moreover, our people are able to mix as never before. Slovakia extends a warm welcome to large numbers of British visitors each year, while tens of thousands of Slovaks have come to live, study and work in the United Kingdom."
During her visit the Queen was taken on a tour of Bratislava by the city''s mayor Andrej Durkovsky.
Ambassador Michael Roberts was appointed to the position in 2007 after previously working as the UK''s Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels.
