New political party established in Slovakia

A new political party has been formed in Slovakia by a collection of deputies from the Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK).
Most-Hid has been founded by ex-SMK supporters and Slovak Hungarians Bela Bugur, Laszlo Nagy, Gabor Gal, Zsolt Simon and Tibor Bastrnak.
In a press conference the new party stated that it is based on a belief in the cooperation of all people at all levels.
Mr Bugur said: "In this process we want to show that one''s nationality cannot be an obstacle; to show that we can really cooperate," the Slovak Spectator reported.
The group will begin to collect the 10,000 citizens'' signatures, which are required to formally establish a political party in Slovakia, from June 14th.
Mr Bugur, who was formally the chairman of the SMK, added that the four MPs decided to leave the SMK to show that they do not believe the party''s current leadership can resolve any of its issues by suppressing internal opposition.
In the recent European Parliament elections the SMK won two seats with 11.33 per cent of the vote.
