Toronto Slovak Theatre to visit Slovakia

Canada''s Toronto Slovak Theatre is to visit Slovakia for a week-long tour during June.
The play Hot Summer 68 by Slovakian playwright Viliam Klimacek will be performed by the group on its visit.
Mr Klimacek''s play is a documentary drama on the changing fates of refugees who left Czechoslovakia after the Soviets invaded in August 1968.
The play details the real-life experiences of refugees who fled to Canada after the events.
Based on interviews the playwright conducted with people who experienced the invasion first-hand, the play also focuses on the emigration of the author''s brother.
Split into two acts, the first follows the situation in Czechoslovakia both prior to and during the Russian occupation while the second depicts the early days of the refugees'' lives in a new country.
The production will be performed at the Jan Palarik Theatre in Trnava on June 15th, at the Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra on June 17th and in the Slovak Chamber Theatre in Martin at the Dotyky a Spojenia festival on June 20th.
Hot Summer 68''s final performance will be at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava on June 21st.
