Launch of Top Women in Slovakia

Let us introduce top Slovak women to you. There are thirty-seven of them, but it does not mean that this figure reflects the actual number of them. On the contrary, we have made the following selection from a database of more than hundred outstanding, less or better-known women from different walks of life. I am aware that besides them, there are thousands of other admirable women who their close relatives consider to be the best...

We have been assisted in selecting the symbolic TOP 37 by a team of gentlemen who are introduced on the final pages.

Three and seven are lucky, magical numbers. Our country is lucky to have these women. The quality of our life and our country's good reputation in the world also rest on their entrepreneurial and social activities. Their artistry brings us unforgettable experiences and their skills, whether in sports, dance or on the theatre stage, enable us to feel a joy of living.

We have tried hard to make the most objective selection taking into consideration many criteria of excellence: what we all find interesting, what they have achieved in life, what their goals are, what they do for others, what families and attitude toward life they have. Olympic medals are the highest recognition for sports performance, but life and tens of years dedicated to saving human health, running successful businesses, justice, planning Slovakia's financial strategy, expanding companies and their brands, or devising artistic or media projects are not of lesser value.

It is possible that you will not find among them some women who you think should be there, for example, our politicians, women who are involved in civic life, community politics, government, and Slovak or European parliaments. We definitely have not forgotten about them and we are planning to publish another book, which will comprise them as well as women who occupy different social positions and are better-known in the world than at home.

This book is also expressive of gratitude for the energy and inspiration these outstanding Slovak women bring into our lives. The HERIAL Company has decided on a more costly and attractive look because we think that both the outstanding women and you readers deserve it.

Among others, I thank our general partner, the AVON company, which has focused on beauty, health and multilateral support of women not only in Slovakia, but also in many countries of the world for a number of years.

The preparation and realization of this project was not easy, but it was beautiful work. We thank our renowned journalists Tá?a Veselá, Silvia Lispuchová and Julka Meky?ová, who interviewed the selected women and whose names are a guarantee of quality.
We also thank photographers Anna Mrazek Kovacic and Bra?o Šimon?ík, whose cameras managed to capture the eternity of a human soul within a fraction of a second.
