Poker tournament to attract international players
The forthcoming tournament in Slovakia is expected to make Bratislava a must-see destination on the international poker circuit, event organisers have claimed.
Slovak Poker Sport Federation (SPSF) is hosting the World Poker Tour (WPT) Slovakia event between August 26th and September 4th.
Dag Palovic, president and co-founder of the SPSF, told Poker Pages: "SPSF is delighted to be associated with a top brand like the World Poker Tour in the creation of this unique and attractive event in the territory of central and eastern Europe.
"With the creation of WPT Slovakia we intend to emphasise Bratislava''s attributes as a highly desirable destination for all poker players."
He added: "The casino partner was also important to us and [the] Golden Vegas [casino] is truly a location worthy of the players, the poker media, and the WPT Event."
The tournament was the fifth additional event to be announced by the WPT for the 2009 season.
