Slovakia is against loaning money to Ukraine

Slovakia is unwilling to support a loan of money to Ukraine to help the state pay Russia for supplying gas, a Slovakian minister has claimed.
Miroslav Lajcak, Slovakia''s foreign affairs minister, told TASR that Slovakia and many other countries in the European Union pay gas tariffs which already include the cost of transport.
The comments follow news that the European Union is meeting with heads of state and energy companies to negotiate a loan on behalf of Ukraine to help pay its debts to the Russian energy firm Gazprom.
If Slovakia was to donate towards a loan, then it would be paying for transport twice, Mr Lajcak explained.
The minister told TASR: "It isn''t possible for the whole of Europe to wait with bated breath every month to see whether Ukraine finds money to pay for gas.
"If this is not solved systematically, we have no guarantee that the loan would solve anything."
Ukraine has appealed for a loan worth more than $4 billion (£2.42 billion) to help it pay Russia.
