New air routes to Slovakia opened up

A number of new routes taking holidaymakers from the UK to Slovakia have opened up since the country has emerged as a popular destination for a short holiday, a British travel guide has said.
Flights to Bratislava are available from a variety of locations including Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and London, UK Net Guide explained.
Despite widespread interest in Slovakia, only two airlines are taking advantage of the upsurge with Ryanair and SkyEurope offering direct international flights.
Low-cost carrier Ryanair offers tourists the option of flying from Scotland, the south-west of England, London and the Midlands.
Flights from Luton and Manchester are being offered by SkyEurope, another budget supplier.
The guide said that although there are no stop-overs en route, "the city''s proximity to a number of other top European highlights, including the cities of Prague, Vienna and Budapest, means that many travellers opt to use it as a base for a tour of the region".
SkyEurope was recently allowed entry into a credit protection scheme by Bratislava''s District Court to enable it to restructure its debts.
The airline claimed that this would not cause any disruption to its flights.
