Benteler to create new jobs in Slovakia

The Benteler Group is to begin a new project in Slovakia which is expected to create 112 jobs.
Located at the German company''s plant in the industrial and technical park in the Zahorie-Eurovalley, employees will be working with sheet metal to produce components for use in the automotive industry, Radio Slovakia reported.
The German company, which also works within distribution, is to invest 600,000 (£518,000) in the plant and has submitted plans for an environmental impact assessment.
Benteler opted to increase its investment in Slovakia following Volkswagen''s (VW) decision to manufacture its new model in the country.
Last month, prime minister Robert Fico welcomed the move by VW to manufacture its New Small Family car at the company''s plant in Bratislava.
Mr Fico said that the investment, which is expected to create 1,500 new jobs and increase the plant''s production capacity to 400,000 vehicles per year, was a good sign for the Slovakian economy.
