Holidaymakers 'should not think they're invincible'

Britons heading off on their holidays should make sure that they do not make the mistake of believing they are invincible, one sector commentator has claimed.
Bob Atkinson, travel expert from travelsupermarket.com, said such a mindset could lead people to do things while they are overseas - which may include those planning to a trip to Slovakia - to do things they would think about doing twice on the UK.
"There is definitely an element of the female population who seem to have a huge capacity to go away and drink themselves under the table," he explained.
However, Mr Atkinson added that this was more of a trend among UK males than women while on holiday.
His comments follow recent research by EssentialTravel.co.uk which revealed that eight per cent of Britons admit to being ''very drunk'' on holiday, while 70 per cent were unaware that their travel insurance did not cover them in the event of a drunken accident or injury.
