British stereotype 'is changing'

Negative perceptions of Britons abroad are changing, new research has found, which may mean UK travellers wish to book a holiday to Slovakia and impress the locals.
The research by Expedia.co.uk revealed that British holidaymakers are runners-up overall in the worldwide Best Tourist rankings, while 18 per cent of hoteliers surveyed commended Britons for their politeness.
Furthermore, the UK was ranked second in the best behaved and most generous nationality category, although the Americans were first place.
Commenting on the figures, Jonathan Cudworth, head of product marketing at Expedia.co.uk, said that when heading overseas, Britons were considered some of the best tourists.
"The ''Brits abroad'' stereotype is slowly evolving and so while we still need to work harder to convince some of our closest neighbours, we are moving in the right direction," he added.
However, UK holidaymakers may wish to keep a check on their behaviour when they go abroad, as travelsupermarket.com recently revealed that 33 per cent of Britons are more likely to take risks on holiday and do things that they would not do at home.
