Britons 'changing holiday choices'

Keen travellers in the UK are taking steps to rethink their usual holiday choices during the recession, which may see more people choosing to travel to budget-friendly destinations such as Slovakia.
Jonathan Mitcham, principle researcher for Which? Holiday, said that while Britons were keen to look for lower cost getaways, it also had to provide good value, which meant that if a hotel was dirty or the service was poor it would not offer value for money.
"Shop around. Don''t just assume that the travel agent will offer the cheapest deal. Check out similar holidays online," he advised holidaymakers looking for a bargain.
Mr Mitcham added that if Britons found a particular package they liked the look of they should use a comparison site to see if a cheaper option was available.
His comments come as sunshine.co.uk revealed that UK travellers prioritise good value for money over hotel reviews and location.
