Cruising down the Danube and into Bratislava

River cruising has become a popular pastime with many travellers, with some taking in the sights of Slovakia, it has been reported.
British holidaymakers who are trying to make their budgets stretch as far as possible while the euro and sterling exchange rate remains sluggish are turning to multi-city sightseeing trips, according to CruiseCritic.co.uk.
The River Danube is one popular hotspot for Britons, who can take in the sights of Bratislava in Slovakia, as well as Romania, Austria and Hungary along the way.
Carolyn Spencer Brown, editor in chief of CruiseCritic.co.uk, said that with river cruising, there is no need to "check-in at five different hotels in as many languages - you just go to bed at night and wake up with a new view and a new town to explore the next day".
With the summer holidays for many UK schools starting this week, parents may find that taking their children on a river cruise means that youngsters never get bored, especially if a number of different cities are packed into one holiday.
