Staying with loved ones 'a popular option'

Britons are looking to make their holiday budgets stretch further by staying with friends and family, it has been said.
According to Post Office Travel Services, individuals are keen to getaway from the UK this year and explore other places, including more far-flung destinations.
Head of the organisation Sarah Munro stated that "UK holidaymakers spend on average £211 per person, per week on holiday accommodation", although many may be willing to splash out more to make the most of their time away.
One popular destination could be Slovakia. Recent figures from the Office for National Statistics show that while visits by Britons to many countries fell during 2008, Slovakia was one exception, along with Romania, Egypt and Mexico.
Individuals who do not have loved ones in Slovakia to stay with may want to book a room at AquaCity in the north-east of the country.
Not only is the hotel and spa a 15 minute drive from the High Tatras Mountains, but a taxi ride from Poprad international airport may take less than ten minutes.
