Britons who are currently holidaying in Bratislava may have found themselves facing a three-metre tall metal dinosaur, it has been reported.

The creature was placed into SNP Square in Bratislava by activists who wanted to promote climate change ahead of the UN summit in Copenhagen, SK Today noted.

"It will be decided in Copenhagen whether or not we''ll listen to scientists'' warnings and adopt commitments leading to sustainable life on Earth," Greenpeace''s Andrea Zlatnanska told the resource.

Slovakia is already known for its advances into becoming environmentally-friendly, with the award-winning eco hotel and spa resort AquaCity powering its indoor and outdoor swimming pools with geothermal heated water.

Large metal dinosaurs are not the only thing tourists can discover in Bratislava''s SNP Square.

In the square can be found a clock tower from 1552, as well as the Church of St Francis Xavier and Thurzo''s House, which is formed from two Gothic houses which also have Renaissance elements to them.
