Britons armed with iPhones on a trip to Slovakia may want to heed the advice of one technology expert.

Travellers with an iPhone should contact their mobile network operator before stepping on to their flight in order to find out the costs of calls, texts and emails abroad, advised iLounge, an independent resource about the Apple product.

"Contacting your cellular service provider is a smart first step if you plan to use the device overseas," stated Jeremy Horwitz, editor-in-chief of iLounge.

Indeed, with an application download available that helps people find their way around the country''s capital of Bratislava, some holidaymakers may be inclined to take their iPhone away with them so they can fully discover the city.

However, in order to avoid high internet costs, the Bratislava (Slovakia) Maps Offline allows users to take advantage of the maps without needing to log on to the internet.

This could be useful for not only tourists, but also business travellers who need to get to meetings and conferences fast.
