Adventure-seekers 'can get fit in Slovakia'

Britons who wish to go on holiday and then return home without the extra pounds of weight which can result from a week of treating themselves may wish to head for a different type of break in Slovakia.
In an article advising women of holidays which may appeal to them, the Irish Times recommends a session of cryo-therapy at Poprad''s AquaCity resort.
The therapy involves dressing up in mittens, wool socks and shorts, a headband to protect the ears and a paper mask and entering a room with a temperature of minus 120 degrees.
After walking around for two minutes, the individual then heads for a work-out regime in the on-site gym to warm up.
The resource notes that Slovakians believe the regime can help to self-heal and regenerate the body.
"If you survive this adventure, you can spend the rest of your stay enjoying the biggest geothermally heated waterpark you will ever see, heated by nature through all the seasons," it adds.
And AquaCity may also be the perfect place to unwind after a holiday spent tracking bears across the Tatras Mountains, with the Guardian''s Flemming Webb recently noting he enjoyed a "hearty meal" at the resort.
