'Very few people' stick to holiday budgets

When enjoying a holiday, very few people tend to stick to their spending budgets.
Such is the assertion of Sean Tipton, spokesperson at ABTA - The Travel Association, who said that travellers tended to underestimate how much they were going to end up spending when they went away.
"It''s important that people always make sure that they have access to some way of getting out money on top of the travellers cheques or foreign currency they take with them," he added.
By taking a credit card, Britons could have the peace of mind that should they need to take out more money they are able to do so.
His comments come after Visa Europe found that more than a third of British tourists will spend their entire budget while on holiday this year, with nearly two-thirds overspending by £200 a week.
It was also revealed that a quarter of holidaymakers always negotiate to get better deals before they head off on their break.
