Could Bratislava be a hen night destination?

As brides-to-be increasingly look for ways of keeping the cost of a hen night to a minimum, Bratislava may be a good destination to consider.

The Slovakian capital is reported to be one of the cheapest cities in which to eat, drink and be merry in Europe.

Such news could interest women who still wish to celebrate away from the UK, but who do not want to break the bank doing so.

Rachel Southwood, editorial director at Wedding Ideas Magazine, said hens should try and keep their celebrations simple by indulging in something the whole group will enjoy.

"Something you know you are comfortable with, whereas a weekend away where you are stuck with people you don''t necessarily know that well for a whole weekend is limiting in itself, so people are less likely to come along then," she explained.

And grooms-to-be may also wish to head to Bratislava, after Hotels.com revealed that despite the recession, UK men are preserving the right to enjoy their last days of pre-nuptial freedom.
