New industrial parks are going to be built in the south of Slovakia, which was till lately the center of food production. New domestic and foreign investors are appearing in this region because of the nearness of Hungarian and Austrian markets and the presence of  mega-investments like Samsung Electronics in Galanta and Sony Slovakia in Nitra.

One of the newest sites being developed in the area is in Hurbanovo and is targeted at light industry or logistics firms. The main investor is the construction company Rekunst.

One of the important investors in this area is also Heineken, operating in brewing industry, which runs the biggest brewery and also the biggest malt-house in Central and Eastern Europe. Local industrial scene in Hurbanovo is also filled up with Namex -  a producer of bakery and confectionary products.

The next industrial park will be in near Palarikovo, developed by Yessel, a Slovak-Dutch company.

These investments should create approximately 500 jobs and invest more than one miliard SKK (€32 million).
