Slovak law is based on the Continental civil law system.
Slovakia has experienced considerable progress in improving its law and rule of law, mainly due to the conforming of the legislation to EU Directives and Regulations and an overall aim of implementing business-friendly environment.
The enforcement of legal rights are on the satisfactory level. However, we recommend that all the legal acts are taken only with expert advice of qualified solicitor.
All the contracts concluded under Slovak law have to have a written form and are highly formalized. The presence of the public notary is required when the contract is being signed.
