Slovak-British Ball 2009

Ladies and gentlemen,

We have to inform you with regret that the Slovak British Ball has been postponed until later in the year. The current economic conditions have both made the sponsors of the event less willing to provide the necessary financial support and made guests from outside London more cautious about paying the expenses surrounding such a luxurious event. The combination of this pressure and the closeness of the international friendly football match at Wembley on 28th March, which is attracting many of the same guests, have made this decision necessary.

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this change in schedule may cause you, and assure you that any payments which have been received for donations for tickets are safe and will be returned to you.

The net proceeds from the ball were being collected for Mrs Gasparovicova's charity to support battered women in Slovakia. If you would like your donation to still be passed on to the charity, please let us know and we will be happy to send you tickets to the Slovak British Ball 2009 when it is held later in the year.

We ask you kindly for your understanding and please accept our apologies for this inconvenience. We look forward to meeting you later in the year in the friendly and convivial atmosphere of a traditional Slovak-British Ball in the luxurious setting in London when the economic environment will be more supportive of such charitable occasions.
